The Third Agricultural Inputs Workshop in Kenitra: Towards Smart and Sustainable Farming to Face Future Challenges

After the success of the first two editions in the Oriental and Meknes regions, the Moroccan Federation of Professional Associations of Agricultural Input Distributors and Sellers continues its tireless efforts to support the sector and promote smart and sustainable farming practices. In this context, the Gharb Association of Agricultural Input Sellers and the Sebou and Sahel Association of Agricultural Input Distributors and Sellers organized the third edition of the Agricultural Inputs Workshop in the Gharb region under the theme: “Together for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture to Face Future Challenges.” The event took place today, Saturday, February 15, in the city of Kenitra.

A Space for Dialogue and Consultation Among Sector Stakeholders

The event opened with welcoming remarks from the President of the Sebou and Sahel Association of Agricultural Input Distributors and Sellers, who praised the Federation’s efforts in developing the sector and strengthening cooperation among various stakeholders. For his part, the President of the Moroccan Federation of Professional Associations of Agricultural Input Distributors and Sellers emphasized the importance of initiatives aimed at modernizing the sector. He also highlighted the partnership signed between the Federation and the ANPIAC agency, which aims to improve the agricultural input distribution system, ensure the quality of marketed products, and provide training.

This workshop, hosted at the Marmara Complex in Kenitra, provided an opportunity for specialized thematic sessions addressing key issues affecting the sector. These sessions were structured as follows:

First Session: Focused on digital transformation in the agricultural sector, moderated by Dr. Abdelrahim Zakmou, who presented the latest digital technologies in agricultural input distribution.

Second Session: Addressed water resource management and sustainability challenges, led by agricultural engineer Mohsen Abdelhakim, President of the Moroccan Association for Conservation Agriculture, who discussed strategies to enhance water use efficiency amid climate change.

Third Session: Dedicated to the future of agricultural inputs amid climatic and economic challenges, moderated by agricultural communication strategy expert Mr. Miloud Al-Akhdar, who explored ways to enhance sustainability in the agricultural input sector.

Towards Smart and Sustainable Agriculture

The workshop focused on adopting smarter and more sustainable agricultural practices, emphasizing the importance of improving agricultural input management and enhancing coordination among different sector stakeholders. Discussions also highlighted the role of modern technology in achieving more efficient farming practices that adapt to climate change, contributing to increased productivity and food security.

Sector Challenges at the Heart of Discussions..

Beyond the technical topics, the workshop served as a platform for dialogue and consultation on the challenges facing the sector, including regulatory frameworks, distribution mechanisms, and the environmental impact of agricultural input use. Participants also exchanged successful experiences to reinforce sustainable solutions that meet market demands and climate variables.

This edition comes amid growing environmental and economic challenges, requiring all stakeholders to intensify efforts towards a more sustainable and efficient agricultural model. The workshop was a key moment to strengthen collaboration and unify visions among professionals, ensuring the development of a more productive agricultural sector capable of adapting to climatic and economic transformations.

At the conclusion of the event, participants stressed the importance of continuing such interactive initiatives, which contribute to the advancement of the agricultural input sector and raise awareness about the need for responsible farming practices. These efforts ultimately serve both farmers and consumers while reinforcing national food security.
