Outstanding Participation of the Agricultural Development Agency in the Final Workshop Organized by the “NDC Partnership”…
The Agricultural Development Agency (ADA) took part in the final workshop of the capacity-building program on climate change adaptation finance in agriculture. This workshop was organized by the NDC Partnership from April 2 to 4 in the economic capital of the Kingdom, Casablanca.
The event brought together representatives from several French-speaking African countries, both from North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Participants included officials from the ministries of environment, finance, and agriculture, in addition to representatives from development banks and entities accredited by the Adaptation Fund and the Green Climate Fund.
The workshop served as a platform for exchanging expertise on several key areas, including the preparation of climate adaptation projects, innovative financing approaches, and the establishment and implementation of an enhanced transparency framework for tracking and evaluating adaptation finance.
Based on the discussions and presentations during the workshop, the Agricultural Development Agency emerged as one of the leading institutions in accessing climate finance on the African continent, particularly in North Africa. Its participation offered an excellent opportunity to share a rich and integrated experience rooted in official accreditation with both the Adaptation Fund and the Green Climate Fund, and built upon a strategic vision grounded in the adoption of international best practices in climate project structuring.
Through the presentation of tangible results and the positive impacts of its projects—most notably the Climate Change Adaptation Project in Oasis Zones (PACCZO)—the Agency has demonstrated its pivotal role in strengthening the resilience of agriculture and fragile ecosystems in the face of climate change. We can only commend the competence of this national institution, its commitment to sustainable agricultural development, and its continuous efforts to make the Moroccan experience in climate finance a model to be emulated both at the continental and international levels.
