Mr. Haidan: Over One Million Visitors at the 17th Edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Morocco
Mr. Kamal Haidan, Acting Commissioner of the International Agricultural Fair in Morocco, announced today, Sunday, April 27, in the imperial city of Meknes, that the 17th edition of the Fair recorded an exceptional turnout, attracting more than one million visitors — yet another affirmation of the event’s status as the largest agricultural gathering at both the national and continental levels.
In a statement given to Al-Mouhit Al-Filahi Magazine on the occasion of the Fair’s closing ceremony, Mr. Haidan explained that the 2025 edition, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and under the theme “Agriculture and Rural World: Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development,” was distinguished by the richness of its content and the diversity of its offerings, bringing together more than 1,500 exhibitors representing 70 countries.
He added that this edition saw the organization of 55 scientific conferences, addressing highly significant topics such as the sustainable management of water resources, the digitalization of the agricultural sector, and the improvement of production value chains — reflecting a strong commitment to responding to the accelerating challenges facing the rural world and the agricultural sector as a whole.
Mr. Haidan also highlighted the awards distributed during this edition, noting that 93 excellence awards were presented to honor pioneering and innovative initiatives across various categories of agricultural activity, thus reinforcing the spirit of innovation and commitment demonstrated by stakeholders in this vital sector.
Moreover, Mr. Haidan underscored the extensive media coverage the Fair received, with more than 850 journalists from various national and international media outlets participating, thereby contributing to enhancing the Fair’s visibility and consolidating its standing on the global stage.
In another equally important aspect, Mr. Haidan praised the active participation of over 530 cooperatives and economic interest groups, which further cemented the Local Products Cluster as one of the Fair’s main pillars, showcasing the rich diversity of Morocco’s agricultural heritage.
Mr. Haidan concluded his statement by emphasizing that the positive figures recorded and the well-organized setup of this edition once again reaffirm SIAM’s leadership as a reference platform for dialogue, cooperation, and innovation in the agricultural field, both locally and internationally.
Throughout an entire week, the International Agricultural Fair in Morocco provided an exceptional platform for boosting trade exchanges, developing international partnerships, and showcasing concrete solutions to the challenges facing the agricultural sector — firmly establishing Morocco’s role as a key player in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture both regionally and globally.
