Moroccan Olive Oil Producers Honored with Prestigious International Awards in 2025
On Tuesday, May 27th, in the Moroccan capital Rabat, an award ceremony was held to honor several Moroccan olive oil producers who won prestigious international awards in 2025. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Ahmed El Bouri, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.
On this occasion, the “Zeyt Essouira” cooperative was celebrated for winning gold medals in international olive oil competitions in Geneva, Miami, Abu Dhabi, and Istanbul. The “Noor Mjatt” cooperative also received recognition after earning a silver medal at the Istanbul International Competition. Additionally, “Olea Capital” company was honored with a gold medal in Athens and a platinum medal in Istanbul.
The event highlighted the exceptional performance of these Moroccan producers, who stood out for their commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. It also reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to supporting stakeholders in the olive oil value chain with the aim of strengthening Morocco’s position among the world’s leading olive oil producers.
In his address, Mr. El Bouri praised the dedication of the awardees and their exemplary contributions toward a sustainable and efficient agricultural sector. He emphasized that the progress witnessed in the olive oil sector is largely reflected in the recognition of the best cooperatives and agricultural enterprises.
The Minister also underlined the remarkable contributions of men and women who embody the vitality of the national agricultural sector and contribute to the international reputation of Moroccan products.
For his part, Mr. Rachid Bennali, President of the Moroccan Interprofessional Federation of Olive Oil, stressed the importance of the international recognition Moroccan actors in the olive oil sector are receiving. He highlighted its encouraging impact on farmers and industrialists at the national level.
He also commended the efforts of Moroccan professionals who managed to distinguish themselves globally, expressing a strong ambition to further elevate the international visibility of Moroccan olive oil, which stands as a symbol of deep-rooted craftsmanship and globally acclaimed quality.
These awards are part of the ongoing efforts launched under the former “Green Morocco Plan” and the current “Green Generation 2020–2030” strategy, which has positioned the olive sector as a fundamental pillar of agricultural development. This is being achieved through enhanced support, technical guidance, and improved market access for producers.
