Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine Fair: Fourth Edition Under the Theme of Territorial Transformation and Efficient Management of Natural Resources
On Saturday in Rabat, the fourth edition of the fair organized by the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (IAV Hassan II) was held under the theme: “Morocco of Tomorrow: Towards Territorial Transformation and Efficient Management of Natural Resources.”
This event, organized by student associations from various disciplines within the institute—rural engineering, topography, agriculture, food industries, fisheries, and veterinary medicine—provided an opportunity for Mr. Redouane Arrach, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, to highlight the importance of anchoring agricultural and territorial transitions within local dynamics.
Mr. Arrach stated that territorial spaces are now at the heart of major challenges related to climate change, food security, and the sustainable management of natural resources. He noted that Morocco, as part of its “Green Generation” strategy, has chosen to place human capital at the core of its agricultural transformation by investing in a connected, informed, and proactive youth. He emphasized the need to bridge academic knowledge with field realities.
He recalled the importance of structuring the transformation in a gradual and planned manner through an integrated approach that takes into account demographic shifts, economic needs, and environmental imperatives.
For his part, the Director of the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine, Mr. Abdelaziz El Hraiki, praised the students’ commitment, emphasizing that “the chosen theme reflects our collective desire to think about the future differently.”
He indicated that the institute aspires to remain a “hub for ideas, knowledge, and solutions” by fostering dynamics that support agricultural and territorial transformation.
Mr. El Hraiki added that this fair contributes to strengthening ties between researchers, industrial actors, decision-makers, and future professionals by uniting efforts to build a more sustainable and inclusive agricultural model.
He also praised the institute’s increasing international openness, highlighting that in 2025, the IAV Hassan II will host 167 foreign students from 37 countries, primarily from Africa, as well as countries like Turkey, the United States, and Argentina.
This edition of the fair also featured the signing of partnership agreements between the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine and the Moroccan companies Barlomar and Lumtech Aquaculture.
