Rabat Hosts a Workshop on the Importance of Soil Health for Ensuring the Sustainability of Agricultural Systems in Morocco

Morocco’s capital, Rabat, will host a workshop on Wednesday, October 9th, titled “The Importance of Soil Health and Its Fertility for Ensuring the Sustainability of Agricultural Systems in Morocco.” The event is organized jointly by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA), the International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA), and the National Office of Agricultural Advisory Services (ONCA). The workshop aims to strengthen capacities and promote sustainable soil management within the framework of the “Green Generation” strategy.

The discussions will focus on the role of Soil Health in improving agricultural production and preserving the environment, with a review of best practices and sustainable policies. Important programs such as the “Global Soil Partnership” and the “National Soil Charter” project will also be addressed to enhance sustainable management of this vital resource.

The workshop seeks to propel Morocco towards leadership in sustainable agriculture, relying on scientific research and modern technologies to preserve soil and enhance its fertility for future generations.
