Ms. Driouch Presides Over the Awards Ceremony of the 7th Edition of “Alyotiss” in Agadir

In a scene reflecting the dynamic nature of Morocco’s fishing industry, Ms. Zakia Driouch, Secretary of State in charge of Fisheries, presided on Saturday in Agadir over the awards ceremony of the 7th edition of the Alyotiss Exhibition. This event falls within the framework of the third edition of the Innovation Awards in the Fishing Industry. The prestigious event aims to encourage creativity and excellence among companies engaged in seafood processing and valorization, fostering their technical and commercial development.

Innovation at the Heart of the Competition..

The Secretariat of State in charge of Fisheries launched this prestigious competition to promote a spirit of innovation within the sector, focusing on three key areas: fishing products, processing operations, and packaging. The competition targets companies established in Morocco, holding valid health licenses, and operating in seafood processing, transformation, and valorization.

The initiative highlights efforts to enhance quality, efficiency, and sustainability within the marine industry, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to developing its fishing sector according to innovative and sustainable standards.

High-Level Official Presence…

The awards ceremony was attended by several distinguished figures, including Mr. El Fodil Sidiati Ahmed Loly, Minister of Fisheries, Marine, and Port Infrastructure of Mauritania, Mr. Saaïd Amzazi, Wali of the Souss-Massa region, Mr. Karim Achengli, President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, and Ms. Amina Fikiki, President of the Alyotiss Exhibition Association.

During the event, companies that excelled in developing innovative products and demonstrated strong market presence were honored, with awards being granted based on innovation, quality, and commercial appeal.

Best Pavilion Awards…

This edition saw the recognition of leading institutions, with Best Pavilion Awards granted to the Southern Atlantic Chamber of Fisheries, the Central Atlantic Chamber of Fisheries, the Federation of Fisheries Chambers, the National Confederation of Coastal Fishing in Morocco, the Moroccan Confederation of Coastal Fishing, the Moroccan Confederation of Traditional Fishing, the National Confederation of Traditional Fishing in Morocco, as well as the Russian and Mauritanian pavilions.

Corporate Excellence Awards…

In the corporate category, awards were presented to DOHA/AVEIRO, COMHAFAT, HBZ GROUP, ATLANTIC FISH EXPERIENCE / MARLEB, YLARA HOLDING, MEDITERRANEAN AQUAFARM, LA VICTOIRE SEA FOOD, AQUA TYPE DAKHLA, SETEXAM, ANDA, MARINA MARSA MAROC, 3M SEAFOOD, PETRO BIG, PETRO STAR, SIMRAD BY KONGSBERG, SJOVICK, FINDLUZA, TOUFA FOOD, EUROFACTORY DIRECT EXPORT, recognizing their outstanding contributions to seafood processing and valorization.

Jury Awards…

The Jury Awards were presented to AIT MELLOU ELECTRO, MECANIC GROUPE SESA MARINE, GAFIAM, AYLUS REFRIGERATION, along with cooperatives AMAROG (Laayoune), SOUIRIA KDIMA, IDMAJ (Boujdour), MOQIDA (Martil), MARCHICA (ALGO CULTURE), and ISLMANE IFNI, in recognition of their sustainable initiatives in the industry.

Marine Industry Innovation Awards…

The Marine Industry Innovation Awards were granted to KING PELAGIQUE, LGMC, CUMAREX, and PELAGIQUE INDUSTRIE, which demonstrated exceptional capabilities in integrating technology and scientific research into their production.

Research and Innovation for Sustainable Fishing…

Under this theme, the 7th edition of the Alyotiss Exhibition attracted more than 523 exhibitors from 55 countries, with France participating as the guest of honor. This underscores the growing significance of the event as an international platform for exchanging expertise and innovations in the fishing sector.

Towards a Sustainable Blue Economy…

This international event reaffirms Morocco’s position as a key player in the development of the fishing industry. These awards highlight the Kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to balancing the sustainable exploitation of marine resources with the promotion of the blue economy. This makes Alyotiss a vital platform for fostering innovation and international cooperation in this strategic sector.
