Strengthening Trade Exchanges: Key Topic of Mr. Bouari’s Talks with the French Minister of Foreign Trade in Paris
The reinforcement of trade exchanges between Morocco and France was at the heart of discussions held today, Tuesday, February 25, in Paris, between the Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, Mr. Ahmed Bouari, and the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad, Laurent Saint-Martin.
Following his meeting with Mr. Bouari on the sidelines of the International Agricultural Show in Paris (February 22 – March 2), Mr. Saint-Martin told the press that the cooperation potential between Morocco and France is “immense,” emphasizing the importance of enhancing investments and increasing trade flows between the two “friendly” nations.
The French minister pointed out that the meeting also focused on the shared interest in establishing a partnership based on a “win-win” approach and “joint development.”
He further noted that the official visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco last October, at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, was a “pivotal” moment in Moroccan-French diplomatic relations. He stressed that the time has come to translate this momentum into commercial opportunities that benefit both countries.
Regarding Morocco’s selection as the first guest of honor at the International Agricultural Show in Paris, Mr. Saint-Martin explained that this choice reflects the quality of cooperation between the Kingdom and France and highlights the expansion of their trade ties.
He added that this decision, along with France being chosen as the guest of honor at the International Agricultural Show in Morocco, symbolizes the vast cooperation potential between the two countries, which remains to be further developed and strengthened.
Morocco is participating in this major event with a large pavilion located at the heart of the exhibition, covering an area of 476 square meters. The pavilion showcases Moroccan local products, crafted by cooperatives with ancestral expertise, as well as agricultural goods that highlight the richness and diversity of the sector.
Additionally, the national pavilion, organized under the theme “Morocco: Centuries of Flavors,” presents other aspects of Morocco’s authenticity and uniqueness through cultural and artistic activities, as well as tastings of Moroccan products and dishes.
